Surgeon Vascular Report

Network 5

In October 2011, the Network distributed vascular access procedure reports to general surgeons, thoracic surgeons, peripheral vascular disease specialists, vascular surgeons and cardiac surgeons with practices located in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. The reports  contain information drawn from Medicare Part B vascular access claims for procedures performed during calendar years 2007 and 2009. These reports present a "snapshot" of each surgeon’s hemodialysis vascular access placement and maintenance practices. While the reports are confidential, the surgeons are free to share the information, if they choose. For further information, see the sample report and description of analytic methods.
