- 84% of Network 5’s adult HD patients had a mean hgb >11 and the US average was 83%
- 8% of Network 5’s adult HD patients had severe anemia (defined as hgb <10). This is the second highest rate among all Networks.
- Network 5’s % of adult HD patients with T-Sats >20 and ferritin >100 was at or slightly above the national average.
Nutritional Status
- The percent of Network 5 adult HD patients with adequate and optimal albumin rates was slightly above the U.S. average.
Adequacy of Dialysis
- 89% of Network 5’s adult HD patients had an spKt/V >1.2, and this is the third lowest rate in the Country.
- The median spKt/V in Network 5 was 1.51 compared to the national average of 1.55.
Vascular Access
- Network 5 has the lowest rate of AVFs in the nation for both prevalent and incident patients.
- Network 5 has the 4th highest rate of grafts among the 18 Networks.
- Use of catheters in Network 5 is the 3rd highest among all 18 Networks.
- The Network 5 rate of monitoring permanent accesses for stenosis is in the lowest 1/3 of all Networks.
