The revised Conditions for Coverage, effective October 14, 2008, require that each dialysis facility have an emergency plan in place. As part of its plan, the facility is required to "contact its local disaster management agency at least annually to ensure that such agency is aware of dialysis facility needs in the event of an emergency."
