MARC
produces a number of informational newsletters for physicians,
dialysis facility staff, and patients. You can download the
most recent issues below. For prior years, check out our newsletter
archive. You may also sign
up to receive newsletters via email.
REMARCS
The REMARCS newsletter is a general newsletter that is distributed
quarterly to dialysis facility staff. It provides information
on current and upcoming Network 5 activities. In
October 2006, the Quality REMARCS, Data REMARCS,
Transplant REMARCS, and Social Work REMARCS
newsletters were all integrated into one comprehensive REMARCS
newsletter.

Quality REMARCS
Quality REMARCS (formerly the QI Update)
is an informational newsletter that is distributed to Head
Nurses (every other month) at every dialysis facility in the
Network 5 region. Quality REMARCS is intended to
highlight current quality issues being addressed by the Network,
as well as provide information on how to use quality improvement
tools in an ESRD treatment setting. In addition to expanding
improvement skills, Quality REMARCS is also intended
to broaden horizons beyond quality assessment and measurement
and toward quality management. In October
2006, the Quality REMARCS newsletter was integrated
into the quarterly REMARCS newsletter.

Data REMARCS
The Data REMARCS (formerly the Data Update)
is an informational newsletter that is distributed to Data
Contacts (every other month) at every dialysis facility in
the Network 5 region. The newsletter includes important information
regarding data completion and submission, upcoming meetings,
and changes that occur within the data department. In
October 2006, the Data REMARCS newsletter was integrated
into the quarterly REMARCS newsletter.

Transplant REMARCS
Each year, the Medical Review Board Transplant Subcommittee
publishes a newsletter that is distributed to approximately
1100 recipients, including dialysis facilities, transplant
centers, ESRD networks and the renal community. This
tool is used as a source of information, and highlights current
projects and Network 5 transplant trended data. In
October 2006, the Transplant REMARCS newsletter was
integrated into the quarterly REMARCS newsletter.

Social Work REMARCS
The Social Work REMARCS is an informational newsletter
that is distributed to Social workers (three times a year)
at every dialysis facility in the Network 5 region. The Social
Work REMARCS is intended to highlight current social
work issues being addressed by the Network, as well as provide
information on how to use social work tools in an ESRD treatment
setting. In October 2006, the Social
Work REMARCS newsletter was integrated into the quarterly
REMARCS newsletter.

Information
Network FOR
MEdical Directors
(INFORMED)
INFORMED was developed in April 1998 as a part of
the Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition's commitment to improve adequacy
and engage physicians in Network activities. INFORMED
is an electronic newsletter designed to increase information
exchange to Network 5 Medical Directors and practicing nephrologists.
The goal is to provide current information that will benefit
practices and patients in the Network area.

Patient REMARCS &
Patient Coordinator REMARCS
Patient REMARCS is a newsletter for patients. Copies
are sent semi-annually to dialysis facility staff to distribute
to patients. Patient Coordinator REMARCS is a newsletter
sent to each facility's Patient Coordinator twice a year.
Each Patient Coordinator is asked to make it available to
other patients. Topics in each newsletter include information
about patient issues such as:
- traveling
- educational opportunities
- improving dialysis
- working while on dialysis
- transplantation
- resources
- feature articles written by patients
