Transplant Subcommittee
The Transplant Subcommittee is a standing Medical Review Board (MRB) subcommittee, is composed of transplant surgeons and nephrologists, transplant coordinators, dialysis nurses, social workers, and transplant recipients from the Network 5 renal community.  The Subcommittee's purpose is to promote transplantation as a treatment modality for all patients who are medically and psychosocially suitable candidates.  The Subcommittee examines transplantation referral statistics in Network 5, advises and makes recommendations to the MRB and Board of Directors on establishing goals for patient referral for transplantation, developing clinical indicators for transplantation, and examines the need for educational materials for both the professional community and dialysis patients.  The committee also monitors the outcomes of transplantation at the active transplant centers in the Network.
